Vision

Vision of the National Library is 'To be a National Literary Heritage Centre'. In other words, the National Library is expecting to be a national centre of libraries in Myanmar, and a knowledge bank for Myanmar culture and heritage.

Objectives

National Library is implementing its functions according to the following objectives to meet its vision:

a)   To collect all local publications and rare manuscripts in order to provide access to the researchers as 

    well as to the public

b)  To collect materials on Myanmar culture including printed and manuscripts, publications on Myanmar

    from other countries and preserve them as the national cultural heritage

c)   To collect and distribute the literature of South East Asia

d)   To be a leading role of library system in Myanmar
