Cooperation with International Organization

National Library participates the leading role in Myanmar Library Association that is organized with the local libraries from every states and divisions. National Library is also performing to develop the knowledge of library and the library processes around the country with that association.

Myanmar Library Association is a member of International Federation of Libraries Associations and Institutions – IFLA. So National Library take responsible as a focal point to connect with IFLA and sharing the knowledge and development of international libraries of the world to the local libraries and connecting to involve regional workshops for the Library.

As the national Library is member of Congress of Southeast Asia Librarians (CONSAL) and Conference on Directors of National Libraries in Asia and Oceania (CDNLAO), it has been connecting with the member libraries and participates in the library cooperation activities and programmes. Moreover, connecting with the above two organizations, the National Library is taking responsibility for reporting the libraries’ sector development of Myanmar in annual meeting and participating the related workshops and cooperation programs in other ASEAN counties.

Apart from that, the library is implementing the cultural cooperation projects by hosting ASEAN cultural meetings, seminars and workshops, and by participating to ASEAN member states' programmes, by coordinating with Culture and information Unit of ASEAN Secretariat.

At 2018, Myanmar is the host country for 17th Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians- CONSAL XVII and 26th Conference of Directors of National Libraries of Asia and Oceania (CDNLAO).
